Photography Waiver 

By attending or in any way participating in any Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) event, you agree to be photographed and/or filmed and give permission to use your likeness in JFS promotional and marketing materials.  

Phone and Email Release 

By sharing your phone number and email address, you consent to receiving messages from JFS. The organization does not share, sell, or exchange donor information for third-party fundraising or marketing purposes.

Force Majeure  
 
JFS shall not be held responsible for any delay or failure in performance of such JFS’s obligations hereunder to the extent such delay or failure is caused by fire, flood, strike, civil, governmental or military authority, acts of God, speaker/talent changes in availability, acts of terrorism, acts of war, epidemics, the availability of the venue where an event is to be held, or other similar causes beyond its reasonable control. If the event cannot be held or is postponed pursuant to this section, JFS is not liable to attendees for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, including but not limited to transportation costs or accommodations costs.   

Assumption of Risk and Legal Disclaimer  

By attending or participating in a JFS event, you acknowledge and assume any risks associated with public gatherings, including personal injury or exposure to communicable illness. JFS is not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or other loss incurred during participation, except where required by law.  

By registering or attending with a minor, the parent or legal guardian represents that they consent to the minor’s attendance and agree to be responsible for the minor’s supervision and conduct at all times. 

Event Code of Conduct 

JFS is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and respectful spaces. By registering for, attending, or participating in a JFS event, you agree to follow this Code and understand that violations may result in removal from the event and/or restriction from future participation. 

Respect and Inclusion  

Treat all people with dignity and respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, or socioeconomic status. Engage in civil discourse: JFS supports robust discussion. However, the event must proceed without disruption. Differences of opinion are welcome, but hate speech, threats, and personal attacks toward any attendees, staff, volunteers, contractors, or speakers hired by JFS are not permitted. The same is true for any conduct that disrupts JFS events and/or operations. JFS may deny admission whenever, in its sole discretion, information indicates that an attendee or prospective attendee poses a credible risk under these terms and this code of conduct. JFS reserves the right to permanently ban individuals and groups from participation or attendance at JFS events.  

Safety and Prohibited Conduct 

To ensure the physical and emotional safety of all participants, harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind is strictly prohibited. No weapons, illegal drugs, or other dangerous materials are allowed at JFS events.  

Violence, threats of violence, or disruptive behavior (e.g., shouting at speakers or attendees, deliberate interference with event activities, unapproved photography and/or videography) will result in immediate removal from current event without refund and prohibition from attending future JFS events. Participants and attendees are prohibited from any photography, recording, live streaming, or videotaping that interferes with the event, disrupts speakers or attendees, invades personal privacy, or continues after being directed by staff to stop. JFS also recognizes the divisive potential for items such as signs, posters, flags, and reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who attends an event with such an item. Any such conduct will warrant immediate removal. 

JFS will not deny admission or remove an attendee based on protected status. Decisions are based on safety, security, capacity, and compliance with these Terms/Code. 

Reporting and Enforcement  
 
If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please notify a JFS staff member or security personnel immediately. JFS reserves the right to remove any participant for any reason deemed necessary to maintain a safe and respectful environment and may bar future participation.  

READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFUL AS IT AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS AS AN ATTENDEE OR PARTICIPANT AT JFS EVENTS: 

I hereby expressly waive and release any and all claims, now known or hereafter known, against JFS, and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, hired personnel, clients, vendors, members, and assigns (collectively, “Releasees”), arising out of or attributable to my presence in the Venue, whether arising out of the negligence of JFS or any Releasees or otherwise. I covenant not to make or bring any such claim against JFS or any other Releasee and forever release and discharge the JFS and all other Releasees from liability under such claims.  

I shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless JFS and all other Releasees against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, or expenses of whatever kind, including attorneys’ fees, fees and costs of enforcing any right to indemnification under this Release, and the cost of pursuing any insurance providers, arising out or resulting from any claim of a third party.  

If any term or provision of this Release is invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, such invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability shall not affect any other term or provision of this Release or invalidate or render unenforceable such term or provision in any other jurisdiction. This Release is binding on and shall inure to the benefit of JFS and me and their respective successors and assigns.   

I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS RELEASE AND THAT I AM VOLUNTARILY ENTERING INTO JFS EVENTS OF MY OWN ACCORD AND AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE JFS.
